An obvious benefit of dried flowers is that they last much longer than a fresh flower bouquet! When properly cared for, most dried bouquets will last at least a year, if not longer. Don’t worry if yours lose some leaves or petals over time; dried flowers can be a little fragile and this is completely normal.

Dried flowers require very little care - the number one thing is to never put them in water, as this will cause the stems to weaken and eventually fall apart. Similarly, avoid humid rooms like bathrooms as the moisture will cause the dried flowers and grasses to deteriorate over time. A warm, dry room is the best place for them.

For dried grasses, we recommend giving them a good shake outside when they arrive to fluff the plumes out and give them plenty of volume. It’s normal for pampas grass and other grasses to shed a little, but lightly hair spraying them can help to reduce this.

To clean your dried flowers and get rid of any dust, you can very lightly dust them. To remove more dust, you can use a hairdryer on a cool setting at the lowest speed, making sure not to hold it too close to the stems. Compressed air can also do the trick, but again avoid holding it too close to the dried flowers.

Dried flowers can be displayed in any vase. If the stems are too long, carefully trim them with sharp scissors so they fit nicely. You can also split up up your dried bouquet into posy or bud vases, if you’d like to display them in several rooms, or to create a more varied arrangement.

Dried flowers are best displayed out of direct sunlight, as it will cause their colour to fade more quickly. Try to place them in a location in your home where they’re not going to be knocked or brushed against too often, as they are naturally fragile and too much movement can damage them and cause them to lose petals or leaves.
