Plants are a lovely addition to any home or garden, but they also have a number of additional benefits for your health and wellbeing. Studies have shown that plants boost your mood, relieve stress, and even purify the air.

Picking the right plant can be confusing, as there’s so much choice. You’ll probably want to consider a few things, such as whether you’re looking for a high or low maintenance plant, and whether or not you’ll need one that’s safe for pets. Many of our house plants are safe for dogs and cats, including rose plants, orchid plants, Boston Ferns, Chamaedorea, and Spider Plants. Please avoid lily plants if you have a cat, as lily pollen is very toxic to cats. We would recommend that you keep plants out of reach of pets where possible.

Each plant will have its own needs depending on the type. Generally, house plants prefer bright indirect light - direct sunlight can scorch the leaves.

For most plants, allow the top layer of soil to dry before watering again - overwatering can cause as much damage as underwatering. However, bear in mind that tropical plants such as Calathea Medallions will generally prefer a more humid environment, whilst arid plants like Yucca plants will need to be watered less.
